Mary Barret is to compete in the World Championship Indoor Masters in Canada. Mary will be taking flight to Canada on the 1st of March to the 6th. She will be competing in the High Jump and Shot put and the pentathlon.
Mary has been a very successful athlete in field events over the years and still is.
2008 was a good year for Mary she won 8 Golds, 3 silvers and 2 bronze in numerous competitions in various places like Tullamore, Belfast, England and Nenagh. However 2009 was an incredible year for Mary with her winning 20 Gold, 5 Silver and 1 bronze. She created records galore; in the Shot Putt at Masters level she set the national record and bettered it twice. She set a new Irish record in the pentathlon in Glasglow with a score of 3365 points she then went on to improve on this in Italy with 3456 points. She set two more National records in the Javelin and the 80 m Hurdle and to top it all off she attained 4 championship bests in the Leinster masters. So far in 2010 she won 3 Golds in the 60m, Long Jump and Shot Putt at Senior Level in the Connaught Indoors in Nenagh .
