January Results

Loughrea Athletes have been competing in many events around the county and further afield. The winter blues had little effect on their
performances.

TUAM 8K January 17th
Tuam 8k 17th January 2010, Judith Roache won the F55 category in 41.19 and then went on to win the F55 category in the prolonged fields of Athenry 10k held on the 24th January in a time of 52.08 so well done Judith.

ATHENRY 10K January 24th
The long awaited Fields of Athenry went ahead last Sunday the 24th, Loughrea Athletic Club was well represented. Paul Keane finished in the top 20 in a very impressive time of 36.40, Paul keane is going from strength to strength i have no doubt we will be hearing more of him in the coming year.
Five people finished in the top 200 out of a field of 516 competitors.Amongst these were John Kilraine, Thelma McMahon, Audrey McMahon, Jarlath Fitzgerald and Joseph Clancy all finishing under the 50 minute mark. Joanne Deely, Orlaith Kilraine, Olivia Deely, Andrea Sellars, Lisa Kelly,Paula O’Connor, David and Catherine Quinn, Ashling Deely, also put in fine performances on the day. Great day out slighlty on the chilly side but im sure during the race it was welcomed.

ALL-IRELAND MASTERS
Mary Barret and Pat Hannon were competing in the All-Ireland Masters Indoors in Nenagh recently also.Mary came away with 3 firsts in the Long Jump, High Jump and shot. Mary did not stop here she went on to win silver in the 60m sprint. Pat Hannon took gold in the 800m over 50'S category so well done to Mary and Pat.
